To be completely honest, when I was asked to review Elusion, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Zoe Parker is a new author to me. Well, not any more!
Don’t know what I’m talking about? Well, then. You should sit down, zip your lips, and let me learn you a thing or two about dark twisted authors.
Yes, the trigger warning is necessary. There’s some seriously twisted stuff in Elusion. Dark, torturous, and addictive.
Don’t believe me? Here, read the blurb.
My life has been out of my control for far too long. For years, I’ve lived at the whim of others; a toy, a punching bag. Trash to be tossed away. I’m okay with the tossed away part, they stop paying attention to me then.
Then everything changed.
I woke up in a new place, with a new neighbor. Not knowing his name, I gave him one. Mr. Glowy Eyes. He hides in his shadows, quiet, dangerous. He definitely isn’t a talker.
But then that changed too.
I learn that out of the two of us, I have the better deal. And I’m counting down days until the end of it all. I get to know him, and well, I like him. I don’t want to like him. Or care about what happens to him. But we can’t always control that.
Mr. Glowy eyes? He’s all about control. So I bet this just tickles him pink.
But I catch him looking, staring at me–at the tattoo on my back. Felt his soft touch tracing the lines of it. Something about it, about me interests him.
Neither of us can control that.
This IS something I can control. Now it’s time to stop being the victim.
The Dark is coming.
How you feeling out there, cupcakes? Interested yet? Well. Then #readthebook. It was good. Dark. Tormented. Twisted. Tinged in mystery. I don’t want to ruin it, so I’ll let you read it to know what I’m talking about.
